casa-pacificaThe Gene Haas Foundation has given two awards totaling $20,000 to the non-profit organization Casa Pacifica. This is a huge hand up for the Tri-County organization that provides services to children removed from their homes by protective services. This includes an extensive crisis-care program as well as residential treatment care program. With this pair of grants from Gene Haas, the Casa Pacifica will be able to continue offering their comprehensive programs and services to the area.

The Casa Pacifica And Tri-County Youth

Started in the 1980s by a group of Ventura County residents, the Casa Pacifica was created to help care for the children who have been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. Eventually, it would grow into a public and private partnership that raised the $10 million dollars needed to build the foundation.

The organization started looking after neglected, emotionally harmed, and abused children in 1994 and it has been in full operation ever since. Its residential program gives children the support and skills they need to overcome their experiences and lead happy, successful lives, regardless of what they choose to do going forward. To extend upon this, the special education school, after-school programs, in-home support, and interventions continue to help those who graduate from the residential program as well as many other children and parents in need.

Casa Pacifica has also opened an emergency shelter to care, supervise, and support, for those who need immediate help or are in immediate danger. These programs as well as the various forms of support the organization provides are vital to these individuals as well as to the community as a whole.

The Gene Haas Foundation Is There To Help

Back in 1999, G. Haas had the idea to create a foundation that would be able to fund numerous causes and non-profit organizations that benefit children and youth as well as the entire community. And, in 2001, G. Haas made it a reality with the formation of the Gene Haas Foundation. Since then, it has awarded more than 800 organizations with over $8.5 million dollars for everything from emergency care and education to food and shelter.

After being awarded the two scholarships in 2007 and 2008, Casa Pacifica has joined the growing list of supported organizations, which also includes the American Red Cross, the Perry Technical Institute, the National MS Society, the California Strawberry Festival, the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and many, many more.

Through the years, the Gene Haas Foundation has supported several groups that promote education, particularly in the technical and engineering fields, the hungry, the homeless, the ill, and all those who need help the most.

The Gene Haas Foundation knows that a chain can only be as strong as its weakest link, and it’s this link that needs the most support to survive. If everyone works together, the individual will succeed. The community will succeed, and so too will the world. And, the Gene Haas Foundation aims to make that happen one dollar at a time.
