The American Red Cross is famous for its humanitarian efforts. Whether it was the aftermath of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, or a family in your local community whose house burned down, this organization has always been there, offering a friendly face and a helping hand. Mr. Haas and his Foundation want to ensure this continues. As a result, the Gene Haas Foundation has given the American Red Cross $164,084 from 2003 to 2005.
The American Red Cross and its Legacy
Clara Barton created the American Red Cross in 1881, and it has been helping to improve our world ever since. This noble non-profit cares for the unfortunate victims of war, feeds the hungry, nurses the sick, and cares for families in need. The Red Cross makes the darkest days in the lives of millions just a little brighter. However, the work of this organization doesn’t stop there.
The American Red Cross also offers support and help to military families, runs the nation’s blood program, helps the poorest people, and operates educational programs to keep everyone safe, in addition to the numerous international programs and relief efforts they have going.
This is a huge order for one organization, but the American Red Cross does it all, and does it well. But, they can’t accomplish all of this on their own; this humanitarian organization needs help, too. The American Red Cross has to have volunteers and financial support in order to continue offering its many services, and that’s where Gene Haas and the Gene Haas Foundation come in.
The Gene Haas Foundation Lends a Helping Hand
The endeavors, mission, and values of the American Red Cross fit the Gene Haas Foundation’s goals perfectly. Being one of the Gene Haas Foundation’s favorite charities, the American Red Cross received six grants totaling $164,084 from 2003 to 2005. This money went to help the humanitarian organization’s many projects in our local community, across the nation, and throughout the world.
Our support for our community isn’t restricted to this charity, though. Since Mr. Haas created the Gene Haas Foundation in 1999, this organization has dedicated itself to helping fund the many charitable organizations in our country in order to help make this world a little better for those in need. Whether it’s a helping a young woman go to university and start on the road to a successful engineering career, or helping feed our country’s hungry, we want to help. And that’s why we’ve given more than $8.5 million dollars to over 800 non-profit organizations.
Some other organizations the Gene Haas Foundation has contributed to include several chapters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Camarillo chapter of the American Association of University Women, the National Police Dog Foundation, and the International Response Fund of India. In short, the Gene Haas Foundation gives to registered, legal non-profit organizations that support our nation’s youth, care for the poor, and help those in need of humanitarian support in some way. Our goal is simply to make this world better by working together.
